Public Consultation on the making of a Public Spaces Protection Order Relating to Drinking in Public

Caerphilly County Borough Council is inviting local people to have their say on the proposal to extend the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) relating to drinking in a public place in Caerphilly County Borough.

With the introduction of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 all Designated Public Place Orders that existed in Caerphilly County Borough automatically transferred after a three-year period to Public Space Protection Orders.

We are seeking your views on extending these Orders for a further 12 months.

The Orders include the following restriction:

  • No person shall consume alcohol when requested not to do so by an authorised person or constable.

The public consultation will start on 29 July 2020 for a period of 6 weeks. You can take part in the consultation by completing our online survey.

  • The survey on the proposal to extend the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) relating to dog control in Caerphilly County Borough is now closed. The outcome of the consultation will be considered by the Head of Public Protection in due course.

All comments and feedback from the consultation will be considered before the PSPO is extended.
